Deborah Porter is a sought-after influential voice and media contributor on parenting and motherhood. 


Her work helps to reduce attrition and the cost of turnover for businesses, among their working parents by navigating the demands and pressures of the intersection of work/life/family. Providing support beyond parental leave for working parents has been shown to minimize and reduce agency turnover and employee burnout. 


Deborah graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Va and went on to work in the criminal justice field in Central and Northern Virginia. As a probation/parole officer and criminal investigator, Deborah was an added resources to the agencies and the courts that served those populations. Years after becoming a mother, she decided to take those same skills and investigate anything that would make things run smoother in her home and in life. 


As a media contributor on all things parenting, Deborah is a recurring expert guest on CBS Virginia This Morning and ABC’s The MotherSide in Washington, DC and The Mom Squad on FOX DC. Her advice column, Balance Life with Coach Deborah in Washington Parent, helps parents navigate the chaos and find their unique balance in parenting and in life. Deborah's articles have been featured in Parents, Grown and Flown, Collegiate Parent, Motherly and others.


Organizations that have had Deborah come in and support their working parents include; Virginia Commonwealth University, Our Family Wizard, Lucas County Children Services, South Shore Health Systems to name a few.
